Training workshop held in Erbil: Improving GBV and other protection issues monitoring and assistance in Mosul

Mercy Hands, in cooperation with LCN and UNHCR, organized a training workshop for Mercy Hands' Mosul protection team and the Justice Center on gender based violence (GBV) and Protection principles.
 
The training took place in Erbil on July 31st and August 1st. On the first day, Ms. Jannat and Ms. Lubna, Esq. from LCN, led a training on GBV issues. On the second day Stewart Brooks, Protection Cluster/NRC, led the participants through the goals and elements of protection work and how the protection cluster system operates.
 
Mercy Hands' Protection Dept. management was represented by Ms. Skylar Kogelschatz, Esq. (Program Manager and Assistant Director of the Protection Dept.) and Mr. Ahmed Abdulridha, Esq. (Assistant Manager of Refugees and Stateless Legal Aid Programs). Throughout the two-day training, Ms. Kogelschatz and Mr. Abdulridha helped the Mercy Hands’ participants connect protection issues discussed in the workshop with their daily work in Mosul.
